Another great paint out with artists that are brave to come out in potentially rainy weather.  The clouds over the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden were wild and the mist from the Cherry Sculpture could be seen in all its glory.  What fun it was with lunch later at the Garden Cafe at the Walker Museum.  Here's my rain speckled painting.

Another week, and another plein air gathering at the Lafayette Bridge in St Paul.  Again we had a grand outing with new people joining us and great paintings happening.  We realized that the bridge we were painting, was recently sited as more dangerous than our bridge that collapsed in Mpls on 35W.  This bridge, as I was painting, was in a constant stream of heavy traffic.  Down below a single tugboat worked all day pushing barges up the river a small distance and then returning for his next ...

Another Wednesday, another great paint-out day with a bunch of artists.  It was windy, very windy, and we were sitting near the rail road yard on St Anthony Parkway.  Wow what a view.  As you are painting, trains are huffing and puffing smoke and gliding by us.  The colors of the box cars are bright and the sky clouds were dramatic.  We went out to lunch and all in all the time spent fighting the wind was well worth it.

Our Paint out Days are here and I am so happy about that.  I love when artists gather.  They bring with them fascinating equipment and paint in even chilly, rainy weather.  I do love being around artists.  This group is open to all artists and it is such fun to meet new people and find out what others are doing in their work.  There were wonderful paintings done today and, of course, having lunch together afterwards is such a treat.  Our schedule is on the Northstar Watercolor Society website...
