Oh my gracious, a whole month has passed and it is still chilly and rainy outside.  The forecast says 80 degree soon but I have a sweater on inside the house this morning and the gloom outside persists.  We won't be having Saturday open hours at Northrup King Building at Studio 321 during the summer and First Thursday in July lands on July 4th and will not occur so Studio 321 will not be open to the public until the First Thursday in August and every Saturday in September/ onward.  I guess it will be a mini respite but I intend to continue to paint paint paint.  I'm so looking forward to some plein air painting and the Wednesday Northstar watercolor society group has started to venture out on various sites through out the twin cities.  Every one is invited to come whether you work in oil, pastel, sketching, or watercolor.  You do not have to be a member of NWS as well.  After taking a sketching course with Greg Lipelt I realize that I have much to learn but I do admit that I much prefer the faster method of wet paint and brushes to sketching.  It was a great class though and it opened my eyes to other worlds of art.  Coming up is the exciting Art of Lakes Tour in Western Minnesota located out of Battle Lake, MN.
